An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind. ~Mahatma Gandhi

World Peace Omaste Witkowski

I see World Peace and the idea that we can all get along and love each other even though we are different. I see all colors being equal , and all shapes and sizes as beautiful. There are large areas of common ground and plenty of places where conflict is alive and struggling. Red is anger and love and blue is peace and calm. Yellow is life and the idea that it will all continue throughout until it is no more. I see the gates of heaven welcoming us all as we try and navigate the space we are currently in. I really enjoy how this all works together in a simple and yet unique portrait.

What do you see when you look at this abstract painting?

  1. Ghandi had discourses with the great Christian missionary, E. Stanley Jones. Johns credits him with saying, “Everyone knows how Christians are supposed to act…except Christians! ” WE CAN DO BETTER! Loving others, Golden Rule, etc.
