You Are The Music While The Music Lasts. ~T. S. Eliot

October 17, 2013 by owfotografik

Music In My Soul Abstract Painting When I feel happy my heart sings. My entire being is filled with light and emotional sounds. Vibrations are tied into the deepest realms and reaches of my soul and when I am in tune with what is right then I hear the most beautiful chords played. Stories are told and secrets are revealed as Ienjoy this magical journey into the other worlds I know that I come from. I also believe that Art […]

Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words. ~Robert Frost

September 3, 2013 by owfotografik

A pretty white lily blossoms into two. A bit of a mysterious background brings them together with the garden and into an eternal bloom. The sunlight beckons as these flowers wake and my imagination has a story to tell. In our abstract garden the tale is told and another day passes. Into the next and onto the end of their existence this spring. Painted into a pretty picture and left to be admired at a later date.

Purple lupine standing tall and proud in the afternoon sun.

August 26, 2013 by owfotografik

Come visit my abstract garden yet again for another visual treat. Lupine are abundant in this space and each one blooms for a a week or so as it slowly opens its blooms to the spring sunshine. Each small part of the flower is on a quest to find light and nourishment as it grows and enjoys the space that it flourishes in. I love to capture this energy and beauty as the garden wakes. No two flowers are ever […]

In three words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life: it goes on. ~Robert Frost

Glorious White Rose What can I say about a white rose? I love it and I planted it years ago. Each spring I anticipate its return and look forward to the soft scent and vibrant colors. This is one of many on a bush but more special indeed to be singled out. I love the soft yellow and pink dancing in and out of the picture and also the many other colors vying for attention in the background. I enjoy […]

Why can the color white evoke luscious lingering sensations of brilliant beauty and entice me so very completely.

August 12, 2013 by owfotografik

Pretty White Peony Peonies are another of my garden favorites. They come in a variety of colors and remind me of garden fireworks. The petals explode from the center in a bright burst of a bloom. Even the white ones have little areas of vivid light and color. They are large and beautiful and then they are gone. Leaving just a faded memory of their brilliance. Lucky for me I get the chance to paint them into another place and […]

Cross my buds and hope to blossom. I am hoping for a new chance at an old technique

August 3, 2013 by owfotografik

Crossing my Buds How many of you have seen garlic flowers? They make fantastic blooms and are very fascinating as they open and explode into wild blooms. The scent is what you would expect from a Garlic flower and not the trait most valued from this plant. However they are a treat to behold and very unique. I cropped these two in my garden and brought them inside for a closer look. I am reminded of hope as I see […]

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit. ~Aristotle

July 19, 2013 by owfotografik

Raspberry Reflections The raspberry bush in my garden is an heirloom variety that I was given by my Mother and it came from her garden. I can only imagine how many generations removed are these berries from the first berry in that initial harvest. How much sweeter is the taste and how much plumper the fruit after many years of tender loving care and warm sunshine. Practice makes perfect I have always heard and it believe it now more than […]

Float like a butterfly and sting like a bee ~Muhammad Ali

July 2, 2013 by owfotografik

I imagine that it takes much less energy to float than it does to sting. Floating is like being supported by a cushion of pillows. Stinging would be, to me, an angry action. So how much more pleasant to float than to sting. However it is much more effective at times to sting than to float. If you are being attacked you might want to at least defend yourself. I love the bright blue and wonderful contrasting colors of this […]

A Trio of Delicious Vertical Stimulation

July 1, 2013 by owfotografik

…… I am not sure if anyone can guess, but I love colors. I am experimenting with these bold colors in a new series I am trying. This series is designed to be long and bright. I am setting the sizes the exact same for vertical and horizontal so that these pieces could be hung together in a variety of combinations. I am excited by the new-found vertical pleasures that I am invoking with bold colors, layers and textures. Long […]
