Patterson Lake Fall Morning Landscape Painting There is a beautiful trail that winds its way around this particular lake. It’s name is Patterson Lake and it is such a joy to be near. Located high in the North Cascade Mountain Range and loved by many. It is a reservoir that contains melted snow and ice that runs down from the mountains. We love to swim in it and hike and bike around it all summer long. In the fall we […]

Life is like a landscape. You live in the midst of it but can describe it only from the vantage point of distance. ~Charles Lindbergh

Patterson Lake Cabins and Mt Gardner On the East slope of the Cascade Mountain Range is Patterson Lake. In the distance is Mt Gardner showing a light brush of snow coverings its face. This lake is a special reservoir that captures water and slowly lets it feed down into the valley below. In the summer we swim and enjoy many water sports here and in the winter we ski by on way to the Lodge for wine and hot drinks. […]

Ancient Tree Reflecting the Sunrise A very long time ago this tree started its existence here on Earth. It grew tall and strong and absorbed the light and energy of the days it grew into. Over time the area that it grew in was transformed from a meadow into a lake. This tree was cut and water flooded over it’s remaining stump. As the water recedes and the new day begins, this ancient memory of a tree is reflecting its […]

Kayaking at Howard Prairie Lake in Oregon, an adventurous treat for the whole family.

August 1, 2013 by owfotografik

My family and I had the pleasure of camping at the Howard Prairie Lake Resort, “The Best Southern Oregon RV Camping, Fishing, Sailing and Outdoor Living Since 1960″ with our extended families. This is an annual retreat for the Witkowski and Lambert clans and it is an event that we look forward to all year long. Kayaks and mountain bikes are standard fare and a certain sailboat is sure to make an appearance. Dogs and kids run and play as […]

Patterson Lake in the Summer

May 18, 2013 by owfotografik

Blue Skies and a Blue Lake fit my mood today. I was parked up above Patterson Lake on my way to Sun Mountain Lodge when I saw this view. This photograph was taken in Winthrop Wa (Washington State), in the beautiful Methow Valley. The Methow is a small jewel of an area not too far from Seattle in the Pacific Northwest. Okanogan County is such a great place to live for all of the sunshine and outdoors recreation.
