Ember Mirror, Symmetrical Orange and Blue Abstract
Contemporary Abstract & Mixed Media · horizontal
A symmetrical abstract in which a glowing orange, yellow and red shape fills the center against a deep blue background. On either side, pale blue, green and khaki forms suggest facing profiles, with spiral curls at the corners. Smooth, flowing lines and translucent layers give it a glossy, liquid look. The mirrored layout makes the center read like a winged creature or a flame.
A collector wants this piece for the glowing orange, yellow and red center set against a deep cobalt field. The strict mirror symmetry makes that center read as wings, flame or a pair of facing profiles without settling on any one of them. The surfaces look glossy and liquid, with thin contour lines and translucent bands, and the spiral curls in the four corners give it a steady pulse. Pure visual attraction is reason enough: it is a high-contrast, warm-on-cool image that draws the eye straight to the middle.
