Peace in Smoke - Black Peace Symbol on Red

Spiritual, Mandala & Symbolic · horizontal

A bold black peace symbol sits inside a black oval against a streaky, saturated red background. The three sections of the symbol are filled with mirrored gray, black and white swirls that look like smoke or marbled ink. The pattern repeats symmetrically on the left and right and in the lower wedge. The contrast between the soft, detailed interior and the solid black lines gives the image a striking, poster-like look.

A familiar peace symbol is rebuilt as a bold graphic object. The heavy black outline sits on saturated red, and the three segments are filled with soft, mirrored swirls of gray, black and white that look like smoke or marbled ink. Most peace-sign art is flat and simple. Here the hard, static symbol contrasts with a billowing, ornate interior, and the left-right symmetry gives it a kaleidoscope pull. Someone who wants a peace symbol with punch and detail, not a plain sticker-style one, would choose this piece. The red, black and white palette is reason enough to want it.
