Cobalt Watcher - Abstract Blue Eye of Swirling Color

Contemporary Abstract & Mixed Media · horizontal

A close-up, eye-like shape fills the frame, with a vivid cobalt-blue center ringed by dark navy. Around it are swirling bands of white, orange, amber, brown and yellow with scalloped, lash-like edges. A small dark teardrop shape sits just below the middle of the blue like a pupil. The surface looks like glossy marbled liquid, with fine ripples and curls spiraling toward the center.

A stranger wants this piece because the swirling color turns into a giant, glowing blue eye the moment they look at it. The cobalt iris, the small dark drop-shaped pupil and the flame-edged lash-like bands give it a focal point and a watchful presence that most blue-and-orange fluid abstracts lack. The saturated blue against rust, amber and cream is striking even if you never think of an eye. The eye is what makes it memorable.
