Ember Wings, Orange Butterfly

A symmetrical orange butterfly with spiral black-and-white antennae sits on a white background. Its wings are filled with swirling, flame-like patterns in orange, yellow and red, and are decorated with large black dots, red circles and sweeping red curved bands. The body has a mirrored, kaleidoscope-like pattern.

Someone wants this piece for its heat. The wings look lit from within, filled with swirling orange, yellow and red that read like flame or marbled glass. Around that glow the butterfly is drawn in flat black and red shapes with crisp outlines. The mirror-symmetrical layout, the big black dots and the sweeping red crescent bands make it bold, clean and easy to read from across a room. Most butterfly art is soft, realistic and pastel. This one is graphic and fiery, and it sits on plain white.
