Ancient Warrior

Pacific Northwest Landscapes · vertical

A gnarled, weathered tree stump rises from a bed of dry twigs and leaves, its gray bark torn open to show bright golden wood. Behind it are a fallen log and thin bare red-stemmed shrubs in soft focus. The surface has a swirling, painterly finish.

A twisted stump with glowing golden wood and a head-like, figure-like top stands out against a muted, brushy forest floor, and its painterly texture gives it a quiet sense of character.
