Cobalt Window in the Clouds

Contemporary Abstract & Mixed Media · vertical

A tall view of the sky shows bright white clouds piled around an uneven patch of deep blue. The blue runs down the center and also shows at the top right. The cloud edges are wavy and softly swirled, and the whole picture has a smooth, painterly look. Gray-blue shadows darken the lower corners and give the clouds depth.

Someone wants this piece for the saturated cobalt gap that splits dense white cumulus down the middle of a tall frame. The blue reads like a window or a river running through the clouds, and the ragged edge and swirling, liquid-looking lines keep it from being an ordinary blue-sky-and-clouds picture. The pull is visual: bright sunlit whites, one deep blue channel, and the feeling of looking straight up.
