Sunlit Ruffles, Yellow and Burgundy Iris

A single iris, cropped close enough that the ruffled yellow-gold petals glow in warm sun above a dark, veined burgundy fall. Most flower prints show a whole plant or a soft pastel bouquet. This one is about contrast: light against shadow, frills against velvet, in a rich colour pairing that holds up on a wall from across the room. The fine painterly grain keeps it from looking like a catalogue shot. Someone wants it because it stops them, and no further reason is needed.
