Green Current, Glowing Filaments Around a Dark Center

Contemporary Abstract & Mixed Media · square

Luminous green and silvery-white strands curve and cross over a dark, almost black center. Fine feathery spikes branch off the strands, giving them a hairy, fern-like or grass-like look. Soft green haze fills the edges and corners, and a few strands pick up yellow-gold highlights. The overall effect is glowing, fluid and slightly electric.

Someone wants this piece for its glow: bright lime and silvery-white filaments curve around a near-black center, with soft smoky haze and fine feathery bristles. Many green abstracts are flat washes or busy patterns. This one has a dark open middle ringed by light, so the eye is pulled inward and then drifts along the arcs. It looks like an imaginary plant world seen up close, and it holds its own on a wall through contrast alone.
