Ember Bloom, Mirrored Orange Flower

Botanical & Flowers · horizontal

A bright orange lily-like flower is mirrored down the center so that its petals rise in a V shape like a pair of horns or wings. Its throat glows yellow, with dark-tipped stamens at the middle. At the sides and bottom, the petals and leaves stretch and melt into wavy flame-like ribbons of orange, amber and green. The background is a hazy blue-gray at the top and deep green below. The lower center forms a mask-like shape with a dark green mouth.

Someone wants this piece because it is a flower first and a surprise second. A glowing orange bloom is mirrored down the middle, its petals rise like horns or wings, and the edges melt into flame-like ribbons of orange, amber and green. Then a dark green mask-like shape appears low in the center, and many people only notice it on the second look. Plenty of orange floral prints exist. Very few are this symmetrical, this luminous, and this playful about it. It is a good choice for a buyer who wants one fiery, saturated piece on a wall and does not need a reason beyond being drawn to it.
