Molten Eye, Orange and Navy Abstract

Contemporary Abstract & Mixed Media · square

A square abstract image filled with glossy, translucent-looking shapes in burnt orange, red, salmon pink and deep navy. On the left, a pale pink oval holds nested dark-red outlines like a stretched eye or ring pattern. At the right, a dark navy form sits above a rounded olive-brown shape sprinkled with tiny white specks. Smooth vertical bands of orange run through the middle and give the whole piece a molten, flowing look.

A collector wants this piece for its glowing salmon-pink oval, ringed with fine dark contour lines like a stretched eye or a tree-ring slice. It sits against a deep navy void and a dark orb dusted with white specks. The warm, backlit look of the orange and pink, set against absorbing darks, gives it a molten intensity that most orange-and-red abstracts lack. The eye-like focal point also gives the viewer somewhere to rest and return to.
