Ember Windows, Black Ribbon Abstract

Contemporary Abstract & Mixed Media · horizontal

Thick black shapes curl and fold across a horizontal canvas like twisted ribbons or a maze. Their edges are lined with fine, thread-like stripes of olive, blue and orange. Between and behind them, a glossy swirl of orange, purple, blue and red glows through the gaps. The result is a high-contrast abstract with a lot of motion.

Someone wants this piece for the collision of two things: heavy black ribbon forms and a background that glows as if lit from behind. The black is not flat. Its edges are lined with fine threads of olive, blue and orange. The black shapes loop like a maze and open into window-like gaps full of orange, violet and cobalt. Most colorful abstracts are all color, and most black-and-white abstracts have none. This one has real darkness and real glow, with movement running through both. It suits a homeowner with one bare wall who wants something dramatic that still feels fluid and alive.
