Ember in the Green: Orange Teardrop Abstract

Contemporary Abstract & Mixed Media · horizontal

A large curved olive-green shape fills the top of the frame, with a smaller green curve along the bottom edge. Between them is a pale cream-gray band. At the center sits a glossy orange-amber teardrop shape with small bright highlights along its edges. A thin green sliver extends from beneath it toward the lower left. The soft focus and smooth surfaces give the image a fluid, glassy feel.

A stranger stops on the single glowing orange-amber teardrop with bright glints on its edges. It sits against saturated olive and leaf-green curves and a creamy, milky channel. Warm against cool is the whole image. It is minimal and glossy, with room to breathe, so it can hold a wall without crowding a room. Most green or orange abstracts are busy or flat. This one has one clear focal point, a sense of wet shine, and a counter-diagonal green sliver that keeps the eye moving.
