Ember Garden - Red Starburst Abstract

Contemporary Abstract & Mixed Media · horizontal

A horizontal abstract with a soft red starburst on the left and a band of green and teal across the top. At the center is a dark reddish-brown mass of glossy, curling shapes edged with gold and white highlights. Thin branching and feathery lines spread outward over a pale cream background, with a patch of blue in the lower left. The overall effect is liquid, swirling and richly colored.

Someone wants this piece for the red starburst alone. It is soft and glowing, with long thin rays, and it sits against a glossy, marbled, flame-like tangle of brown and gold with emerald and teal above. Most red-and-green abstracts are either flat colour fields or muddy blends. Here the colours stay clean on a light cream ground, and two surfaces meet: soft and blurred beside glossy and liquid. It reads as warm and energetic from across the room. Up close it keeps offering tiny speckles, curling lines and fern-like edges. Visual attraction is reason enough to choose it.
