Crimson Totem, Mirrored Red and White Abstract

Contemporary Abstract & Mixed Media · horizontal

A vivid abstract in red, white and pink with swirling, glossy bands mirrored perfectly left to right. A dark crimson oval at the center is framed by bright white curves, and spiral whorls fill the corners. Touches of orange, purple and blue add contrast in the lower half. The mirrored layout can suggest a face or mask, though it is entirely abstract.

A stranger stops on this because of the colour and the glow first: saturated red and crimson lit by near-white ribbons, with a perfectly mirrored layout. Then the second look arrives. The symmetry starts to read as a mask or a face with a dark oval at its centre, though nothing is depicted. Plenty of red abstracts are loose, splashy or muddy. This one is exact, balanced and bright, and it gives a viewer something to find. It suits someone who wants a bold, warm, energetic piece for a wall and trusts their eye over any explanation.
