Blue Below the Surface, Mirrored Abstract

A horizontal abstract image filled almost entirely with saturated blue, shading into teal in places. Faint, mirrored swirling shapes sit just below the surface, arranged symmetrically around the center. The texture looks mottled and slightly streaked, like felted or brushed material.

A buyer wants this piece because it looks like a deep, saturated blue field from across the room, and then slowly reveals a mirrored, kaleidoscope-like scrollwork just under the surface. It gives a wall a strong colour without a busy image, and it rewards a second and third look. Plenty of blue abstracts are plain washes. This one has hidden symmetry and a felt-like, streaked surface.
