Ember Wings - Mirrored Red and Gold Butterfly

Butterflies, Birds & Wildlife · horizontal

A symmetrical butterfly with a red body and cream head spreads its wings across the center of a deep red and maroon background. The wings are filled with glossy, marbled swirls of gold, orange, pink, lavender and touches of green. Mirrored swirling patterns in the center and background create a kaleidoscope effect. A dark maroon border with a thin glowing orange edge frames the whole image.

A collector wants this piece for its bold, readable butterfly. Its wings are filled with glossy, marbled swirls in red, gold, orange and lavender, and the whole image is mirrored perfectly across the center. It reads at once as a butterfly, then rewards a closer look with liquid-looking pattern and a jewel-toned glow against a deep maroon surround. Plenty of butterfly art is soft or naturalistic. This one is ornate, symmetrical and warmly luminous, closer to a stained-glass or kaleidoscope effect than a field study.
