Golden Daybreak, Mirrored Abstract

Contemporary Abstract & Mixed Media · horizontal

A glowing yellow disc with a delicate starburst at its center sits in the middle of a mirror-symmetrical abstract design. Wavy bands of gold spread out to both sides, under a sky-like area of pale blue and white. Cobalt blue flame-like shapes curl across the top, and green, orange and brown swirls fill the bottom and sides. The surface looks glossy and liquid, with fine rippling lines running through the overlapping colors.

A collector wants this piece for its single glowing focal point: a golden disc with a fine starburst center, set in perfectly mirrored, flame-like ribbons of cobalt blue, leaf green and burnt orange. Many abstracts offer swirling color. Few combine exact left-right symmetry, a sunrise-like light source and glossy, liquid-looking surfaces with fine topographic ripple lines. It is a warm, high-energy abstract that is bright at the center and darker at the edges. Visual attraction alone is reason enough to want it.
