Carved in Light - White Plumeria

Botanical & Flowers · horizontal

A close-up of several white plumeria flowers with yellow-tinted centers and rounded, overlapping petals. The petals have a swirled, brushed texture that looks like thick paint. Green stems cross behind the blooms, and the background dissolves into warm golden and amber bokeh. Light gathers on the pale petals and sets them against the darker foliage.

Plenty of plumeria images exist, but few make the petals look sculpted. Here the pale blooms seem carved or enameled, with swirling, paint-like strokes. They glow against dark green and a soft golden-amber bokeh. Someone wants this piece for the warm, lush feel of white flowers lit from within, set against a rich dark ground. The tight crop fills the frame with petals, so the flowers read as the whole subject.
