Raspberry Whirl - Berries in a Mirror-Bright Swirling Bowl

Contemporary Abstract & Mixed Media · vertical

A shiny round metal bowl is seen from above, with a pile of bright pink-red raspberries resting in its lower half. The inside of the bowl reflects purple, blue and tan swirls, and its rim glows copper-orange. Around it, a background of warm beige and dark blue-black is rippled into repeating spiral shapes. The whole scene looks like a painterly, liquid-like treatment of a simple fruit still life.

A collector wants this piece for one striking contrast: a small heap of glowing pink-red raspberries sitting in a dark, mirror-like bowl whose metal has been rippled into liquid spirals. A fruit still life is easy to recognise at a glance. The swirling, painterly treatment makes it feel more like an invented world than a kitchen snapshot. It suits someone who likes recognisable subjects with a playful, slightly dreamlike twist, and who wants a saturated accent color against deep charcoal, steel blue and plum. Visual appeal alone is reason enough to want it.
