Green Among the Gold: Dry Grass on Icy Blue Water

Tall dry golden grasses crowd the left side of the frame, and a small clump of bright green blades rises from dark blue water. The water shows reflected bare tree branches and patches of thin ice and pale sky. The overall tone is cool and quiet, with the blue of the water contrasting the warm grass.

Most blue-water or grass photographs lean on one colour. This one sets warm, feathery gold grass against deep blue water, with a small clump of bright green shoots at the centre. Thin ice, pale sky and dark reflected branches fill the open half of the frame. Someone with a cool-toned room and a wall that needs one warm note would want it for the colour contrast alone. The gold-blue-green balance is the reason to choose it over other water-and-reed images.
