Green Bend, Forest River With Boulder

A shallow, clear river with green-tinted water winds through a dense evergreen forest. The left bank is piled with smooth gray and tan stones, and one large rounded boulder rises from the water near the center. A leaning tree arcs across the upper right, and a tangle of dry roots and driftwood sits along the far bank. Small white ripples break across the current in the lower right.

Someone wants this piece for the clear green-turquoise water, where the pebbled streambed shows through against a very dark evergreen forest. Most forest-river images are either all green or all water. This one pairs luminous water and pale boulders with deep shade, a single large boulder as the anchor, and a few touches of rust and orange-red leaves. It is a calm, unhurried riverside scene that people can simply enjoy looking at.
