Ember Burst: Marbled Orange Star in a Dark Oval

Contemporary Abstract & Mixed Media · horizontal

A jagged, many-pointed star glows in the middle of a dark navy oval on a black background. Its surface is filled with swirling orange, yellow and red, with touches of blue and teal toward the tips. Eleven small round shapes, each with a smaller circle inside like an eye or a moon, form a ring around the star. Thin dark outlines separate the shapes and sharpen the contrast with the black surroundings.

A collector wants this piece for its glowing heat against darkness. A jagged, many-pointed star fills with liquid orange, gold and red marbling and sits in a dark oval. Eleven small eye-like or moon-like bubbles orbit it. Most star or sun art is flat and symmetrical. Here the points are uneven, the color looks poured, and the contrast is strong enough that the star seems backlit. Pure visual impact, with a playful, celebratory, firework-like energy, is reason enough to want it.
