Embers on Blue, Red and Orange Glass Macro

A close-up of translucent glass in vivid colour. A large red oval, a tall orange teardrop and a slim red-orange shape stand out against pink, lilac, yellow and a pool of blue. Thin bright lines outline each shape, and a few small bubbles are visible in the glass.

A stranger scrolling past stops for the glow: saturated red and orange cells that look lit from behind, floating on a pool of blue, with bright edge lines and tiny bubbles. It reads as an abstract first, with no subject to decode. The appeal is colour and light, and that is reason enough to want it. Among the many red, orange and blue abstracts, this one has a liquid, jewel-like depth and a real sense of looking into something.
