Ember Blooms, Glowing Black-Eyed Susans

A tight group of golden-yellow flowers with dark red-maroon centers fills the frame, seen from above among green grass. Each petal fades from yellow to orange to deep red near the center, and the whole image is covered in fine, glowing, thread-like strands. The flowers look as if they are lit from within against the darker, tangled grass. The overall effect is a vivid, fiery, dreamlike flower scene.

Daisy-type flowers are everywhere in flower art. This one is different because the petals look lit from within. Each shades from gold through orange to deep red around a dark maroon centre, and fine hairlike strands make the blooms read as flame and feather. A stranger is stopped first by the glow against dark green grass. The warmth and energy are reason enough to want it on a wall.
