Cobalt Hush, Textured Blue Color Field

A horizontal expanse of rich cobalt blue fills the whole frame. Fine vertical streaks and flecks in slightly lighter, darker and greener blues create a soft, felt-like grain. The tone is even from edge to edge, with no objects, horizon or focal point, so the color and surface texture are all there is to see.

Someone wants this piece for the color and the surface. It is a saturated cobalt blue that runs edge to edge with no object, horizon or focal point. Fine vertical grain stops the blue from looking flat and gives it a soft, velvety, faintly flickering quality. It suits a buyer who wants one strong, calm hue rather than a scene, and who wants that hue to have some tactile depth. Many blue abstracts are gradients, washes or swirls. This one is an unbroken field of texture.
