Pink Embrace, Magenta Arch and Lime Green

Contemporary Abstract & Mixed Media · square

A glossy magenta curved stem arches across the top and left of a square image, wrapping around two round, ribbed lime-green forms that sit side by side. The background shifts from pale aqua at lower left to deep green and black at the right. A fine painterly, rippled texture covers the whole surface, and the soft focus at the edges gives the close-up a dreamlike depth. The color combination of hot pink, acid green and teal is bold and highly saturated.

A collector wants this piece for its collision of hot magenta, acid lime and teal, and for the single glossy pink arch that wraps around two ribbed green forms. Most saturated abstracts are all-over colour fields. This one has a clear, readable subject, a loop and a pair, and a fine oil-paint-like texture across the whole surface. The attraction is visual first: it is bold, playful and slightly strange, and it is easy to remember.
