Ember Drop, Glowing Orange-Red Abstract
Contemporary Abstract & Mixed Media · horizontal
A large, smooth, glowing orange-red shape hangs from the top of the frame and narrows to a point near the bottom center. A thin crease runs down the right side of the form. Around it, soft fields of mauve-pink, pale olive-cream and bright green blur gently into one another. The whole image has a silky, translucent, dreamlike look.
A collector wants this piece for its glowing, translucent orange-red teardrop. It hangs from the top edge and tapers to a soft point, split by one thin crease, and it sits against complementary green and dusty mauve-pink fields. Many warm abstracts are flat or busy. This one has a single clear focal form, a lit-from-within glow and silky gradients. It is a vivid red-orange and green contrast, yet it reads calm, sensual and dreamlike. Visual attraction alone is reason enough to want it.
