Cobalt Blue Meets Rust and Gold in One Still Mountain Pond
"Cobalt Mirror, Fallen Logs Below Snowy Peaks" is my oil-painting-effect digital landscape, and the colour is the first thing you see.

Picture a wide wall with one very blue patch on it. The blue is deep cobalt, and it sits in a sky and in the water that mirrors it, broken into bright, rippling pieces.
Against that blue lie rust-brown logs and golden reeds. That contrast is why I made this piece, and it reads from across the room before you can make out any detail.

What your eye finds when it slows down
The first thing is the logs. Large, weathered trunks and branches cross the foreground on a diagonal from lower left to upper right. The bark and the dry grasses keep fine grain, so you can almost feel the wood.
Then the eye drops into the pond. Dead stumps stand in the shallow water among golden reeds, and the reflections break into rippling fragments that carry your gaze back toward the middle of the picture.
At the far end, snow-dusted peaks sit under a wide sky of streaky white clouds, with evergreen and bare trees along both banks. Short, curved, swirling strokes cover the sky, water and wood in a thick, oil-paint-like texture. I made it as digital art with an oil-painting effect. The scene is representational, but heightened and painterly.
What you'll see in it
- Cobalt-blue sky and water set against rust-brown bark and ochre-gold reeds. The cool-warm contrast gives the room a strong colour focus that holds from a distance.
- Swirling, short curved strokes across sky, water and wood. They give the surface the look of thick oil paint, so a landscape that could be quiet feels tactile and alive.
- Big logs on a diagonal in the foreground. They pull you in from the lower left and lead you across the pond to the mountains, so the picture has real depth.
- Broken, rippling reflections on the water. They repeat the sky's blue in bright patches and keep your eye moving back toward the peaks.
- Snow-dusted peaks under streaky white clouds. They give the vivid foreground a calm, open place to rest.
The wall it's made for
This is a horizontal landscape with a strong foreground, so it suits a wide wall: above a sofa, a bed, a mantel or a console. Colour comes first and scenery second, so it works as the main piece in the room rather than a quiet accent.
The cool blues and warm browns sit comfortably in cabin, lodge and modern-rustic rooms. The mood is calm and open, with a wild stillness set against bold colour. It's mainly a piece you'll want to look at.
- This is for you if you want a mountain landscape that is vivid and high-contrast rather than muted and photographic.
- This is for you if cobalt blue against rust and gold is the colour pairing you keep returning to.
- This is for you if you like a thick, swirling, oil-paint texture but want a recognisable scene: a pond, logs, reeds and peaks.
- This is for you if you need a statement piece for a wide wall and want a clear path for the eye from foreground to distant mountains.

Questions before you choose
Is this an actual oil painting?
No. It's digital art with an oil-painting effect. The thick, swirling brushstroke look is part of the image itself, and what you receive is a print of that image.
Which sizes can I get?
