Rough as bark on one side, lit like glass on the other
Ember Meets Glow is a close-up abstract where a crackled orange-brown mass meets smooth, glowing green-gold surfaces.

Look at the left third of this piece first. It is rough, crackled and granular, like dried skin or bark, in burnt orange-brown, with a fine white speckle along its edge. It looks like something you could run a fingertip across.
Then let your eye cross the frame. On the right, the surface turns smooth, glossy and liquid-looking, in lime, yellow-green and gold, and it seems to glow from within. That shift from rough to smooth is the reason I'm asking you to look closely at this one.

What the eye finds when it stays a while
I'll keep this to what is actually in the image. The first thing is the contrast. Crusty, matte texture sits right beside surfaces that look like glass or resin, and neither side softens the other.
Thin pale lines curve from the center toward the right edge. They are the bridge between the two halves. Follow one and you move from the crackled mass into the large curved planes in the upper right, where bright yellow highlights make the green-gold look lit from behind.
Orange streaks run diagonally through the darker band in the center, and dark brown, near-black patches in the lower right deepen the bright color. There is no horizon and no single object, so the image works as texture, color and light, and your eye keeps moving between them.
What you'll see in the print
- A rough, crackled, bark-like orange-brown form on the left. It gives the piece a tactile, almost touchable edge.
- Smooth, glossy, liquid-looking planes on the right. They give the eye somewhere calm to rest after the texture.
- Surfaces that look translucent and lit from within, with bright yellow highlights and warm orange streaks. They give the color a jewel-like glow.
- Fine pale lines that sweep from the center toward the right edge. They carry your eye across the frame and tie the two textures together.
- Golden amber, lime and yellow-green and burnt orange-brown, with teal, olive, small touches of violet and magenta, and white speckles. The palette is rich and warm, with a few fresh accents.
- Dark brown patches in the lower right. They add depth, so the bright color doesn't look flat.
Where it belongs
This is a horizontal, tightly cropped, full-frame image, so it suits a wide wall: above a sofa, a console, a bed or a desk. The warm amber, olive and burnt orange sit comfortably in warm or earthy rooms, and the lime and teal add a fresh note.
From across the room it reads as glowing color. Up close, the rough-to-smooth contrast rewards a longer look. With no horizon and no focal object, it works as a statement piece without telling the room what to be about.
- This is for you if you want an abstract with real tactile contrast, not only color or only smoothness.
- This is for you if warm amber, lime and burnt orange appeal to you for their own sake.
- This is for you if you have a wide wall that needs a luminous, saturated piece.
- This is for you if you like art that rewards close, slow looking.

Questions before you choose
Will it suit my wall and my room?
It is a horizontal piece in warm amber, olive and burnt orange with lime and teal accents, so it suits wide walls and warm or earthy interiors. If it doesn't work in your space, Fine Art America offers a 30-day money-back guarantee.
What is it actually made of?
The surfaces look translucent and glass-like, but I'm describing what the image shows, not claiming a specific material. The listing is categorized as macro photography.
Can I choose the size and finish?
Yes. Fine Art America makes each print to order, and you choose the size, paper, canvas, metal or frame on the listing page.
Picture the left edge of the frame, rough and burnt orange, catching your eye as you walk into the room. Then picture the right side glowing green-gold above your sofa or desk, with the pale lines drawing you across.
If that's the piece you want to live with, go to the Fine Art America listing and choose your print.
