Look at the center first. Amber, orange and gold streaks rise through the middle of the frame and glow as if light were passing through them from behind. Tiny round bubbles hang in that warm center.

Then look at the edges. Deep cobalt blue fills the far left and upper right, and flashes of white, green and teal run along the borders. The heat in the middle and the cool blue around it are what this piece is about.

What your eye finds the longer you stay

I'm not going to invent a backstory for this piece. It doesn't need one, and the image gives you plenty to go on. What follows is what's in the frame.

Start with the fine parallel lines running vertically through the center, like combed or brushed striations. Then the streaks begin to move. They sweep upward and slightly outward like flames or rising currents, while a curved ridge across the lower middle pushes against them.

Near the bottom, a dark peak-like shape of maroon and brown anchors everything and makes the bright passages burn harder. Scattered bubbles in the upper center give your eye places to rest, and one larger oval bubble sits at the lower left, like a full stop.

The surface looks like colored glass, glossy and layered, and the piece is listed as macro photography. The glow is the main event.

What you'll see in this piece

Where it belongs

The format is horizontal and runs edge to edge with no horizon, which makes it a natural focal point over a sofa, bed or console, or in an entry. The warm center works on neutral walls. The cobalt edges pair well with deep blue or charcoal rooms.

It's a color-driven abstract with a luminous, stained-glass look. The mood is warm, energetic and vibrant, and wanting it for the color alone is reason enough.

Questions before you choose

Is this actually glass?

It looks like translucent, colored glass, and that's how I describe it. The listing category is macro photography. I'd rather you judge by what you see than by a claim I can't back up here.

How large can I print it?

The listing shows the sizes available for each surface. I won't promise a size beyond what's offered there, so choose from the options on the page.

What if it doesn't feel right on my wall?

Fine Art America offers a 30-day money-back guarantee, so you can try it in your room with that protection.

Picture the amber center glowing over your sofa or at the end of a hallway, with the cobalt edges settling into the room around it. The bubbles and fine lines will keep giving you something to look at up close.

When you're ready, go to the listing and choose your size and surface.
