Amber Meets Blue Reach: Fluid Abstract

Contemporary Abstract & Mixed Media · horizontal

A horizontal abstract of melted, flowing shapes in orange, red, olive, slate blue and beige. On the left, a glossy, finely rippled form in bronze and amber looks almost like a mask or head, with a small speckled patch on its right. On the right, flat blue shapes with branching, finger-like arms are outlined in thin red lines. They sit against a smooth pale beige ground, with a glowing yellow-orange edge on the left and red pooling along the bottom.

A collector wants this piece for its pairing of two different surfaces in one image. On the left is a glossy, finely rippled form in olive, bronze and amber. On the right are flat, matte slate-blue shapes that branch like fingers, each traced with a thin red line. A calm beige field sits between them. The warm palette has a single cool counterweight, so the piece reads as bold without feeling chaotic. The left form also has a faint, character-like presence that invites a second look.
