Red Roof Reverie, Half-Timbered House

A half-timbered house with a steep red roof stands on a grassy rise, its white plaster walls divided by dark diagonal and vertical beams. A weathered wooden fence and some shrubs fill the lower left, and a second red-roofed building is partly visible at the left edge. The sky is a swirl of pink-lavender clouds with deep blue patches. A dirt path and dark evergreens sit at the right, and the whole scene has a thick, rippling, paint-like texture.

A collector wants this one for the red roof. It is the most saturated shape in the picture, set against dusty pink-lavender plaster and a swirling blue-and-pink sky. The dark half-timber beams cut crisp diagonals across the walls. The whole surface has a thick, rippling, oil-paint-like relief, so a plain house portrait becomes a storybook scene with some weather in it. Most house or cottage pictures are flat and neutral. This one is warm, tactile and colour-led.
