Still Daisies and Stirred Stone

White daisies with yellow-orange centers grow in a loose group in front of a big, weathered stone block. Green leaves and small round buds fill the lower and right sides of the image. A swirling, paint-like texture covers the stone and plants and gives them a rippled look. The flowers are the brightest part of the picture, set against the muted browns, teals and greens.

Most daisy prints are a bright, flat close-up of petals. This one sets crisp white daisies with golden centers against a big weathered stone block, and the stone and leaves around them are turned into looping, rippling swirls like paint being stirred. The flowers stay sharp and calm while everything behind them moves. The palette is unusual for a floral: deep forest green, warm cream, dusty mauve-brown, with a cool slate-teal patch on the stone. Someone who wants flowers without a cheerful garden-center look would stop at this.
