Glowing Orange Wings, Stained Glass Style Butterfly
Butterflies, Birds & Wildlife · horizontal
A large orange butterfly with spread wings sits at the center of a white panel inside a thick black border. Black lines divide its wings and body into cells of orange, sky blue, green, yellow and pink, in the manner of stained glass. Blue spots and scalloped shapes run along the wing edges, and the colors have a soft, rippled, marbled texture. Green stems curl in from the corners of the frame.
A collector would want this piece for its immediate, jewel-like impact. A big orange butterfly is divided by bold black leading lines into glowing cells of orange, sky blue, green, yellow and pink. Liquid, marbled swirls fill the cells, so every wing section has its own small pattern. The white panel and thick black border keep the contrast sharp and graphic. It reads at once as a stained-glass window but is clearly a butterfly. It is cheerful and decorative and needs no explanation.
