Float Like a Butterfly: Swallowtail on Pink Blossoms

Butterflies, Birds & Wildlife · vertical

A yellow-and-black striped swallowtail butterfly rests with its wings spread on a cluster of pink-purple star-shaped flowers. Its hindwings show small flashes of blue and orange. The soft green background is blurred, and a leaf shows in the lower left. Beneath the image, a dark olive band carries the quote 'Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee. Muhammad Ali' in cream lettering. A fine embossed, painterly texture covers the whole picture.

A collector wants this piece because it makes one clear, instantly readable image: a boldly striped yellow-and-black swallowtail with small blue and orange flashes on its hindwings, resting on dusty pink and orchid blossoms against a soft olive-green blur. The Muhammad Ali line 'Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee' sits in a dark band below and gives the butterfly a playful second meaning. Most butterfly prints are only pretty. This one is also a wink and a bit of motivation, so it suits a buyer who wants nature and attitude together.
