Cobalt Echo - Concentric Water Ripples

Contemporary Abstract & Mixed Media · panoramic horizontal

Bright blue concentric ripples spread across water in a wide oval. Darker brown and grey reflections fill the center of the rings and a band along the top of the image. The whole surface has a fine, swirling, brush-like texture. The wide horizontal format stretches the rings into a long ellipse.

Someone wants this piece for the color collision and the hypnotic pattern: electric cobalt rings spreading across the water against a dim, earthy brown reflection. The swirling, brush-like texture makes the water read like a painted surface, so it sits between a water scene and a graphic abstract. The wide ellipse stretches the rings into a long, calm horizontal sweep. Many blue water images are soft and pale. This one is saturated, dark-troughed and rhythmic.
