Cobalt Tide, Glassy Blue Abstract

Contemporary Abstract & Mixed Media · horizontal

A horizontal abstract painting-like image with a large, glossy blue form at the center, full of small swirls and silvery reflections. To the left a bright red and orange ribbon sweeps upward, with a golden-orange swirl in the top corner. On the right, green, blue, and navy channels twist around a pale pinkish-beige shape and a few yellow dots. Everything looks fluid and warped, as if the colors were flowing together.

A collector would choose this piece for the glassy, rippled blue mass at its center. Small spirals ring the mass, and ribbons of fiery red-orange and deep green wrap around it against dark navy. It reads as liquid and light at once. The warm-left and cool-right balance gives it energy without clutter. Many fluid abstracts are one soft blend of colors. This one has a clear focal point, crisp contour lines where the bands meet, and strong contrast. Visual attraction alone is reason enough to want it.
