Still Blue, Orange Swirl Abstract

A large deep blue rounded shape sits in the middle of a field of swirling orange, yellow and red bands that look like flowing liquid. On the right, the patterns turn into fine, rippled textures flecked with teal, green and purple, while a softer lavender and olive wave shape sits at the bottom center.

A buyer wants this piece for the contrast at its centre. A deep, still blue form with fine concentric ripples sits inside fiery orange, yellow and red folds that look like moving liquid. On the right the pattern breaks into fine, rainbow-edged texture. Most orange-and-blue abstracts are either all swirl or all flat colour. This one gives the eye a quiet place to rest and a busy place to explore, and the warm and cool colours are both strong and saturated. Someone with a settled room and a bare wall can picture it at once, and the blue-and-orange pairing is easy to match to a sofa, a rug or a painted wall.
