Heartfold, Crimson Mirrored Abstract

Contemporary Abstract & Mixed Media · horizontal

Four large, curling, heart-like shapes in deep crimson are arranged in a mirrored grid on a dark burgundy background. Each is wrapped in a thick plum band with a mottled texture and a smooth, marbled ring of lilac and pink. In the center, a diamond-shaped opening with pale, feathery highlights joins the four shapes. The palette is rich and saturated, and the symmetry gives it a balanced, decorative look.

A collector wants this piece for its saturated crimson and plum palette and its exact four-way mirror symmetry. Four curling, heart-like shapes sit in the corners, each ringed in glowing, smoky lilac. The matte crimson and dark plum areas contrast with the luminous marbled rings, and everything pulls toward a feathery-edged diamond at the center. It is rich and romantic, yet calm and orderly. Many red or purple abstracts are loose or chaotic. This one is deliberate, balanced and decorative, and that is reason enough to want it.
