Cobalt Ember: Mirrored Abstract in Blue, Gold and Red

Contemporary Abstract & Mixed Media · vertical

A tall abstract image with a glowing blue oval at its center, framed by dark red scrolling shapes that resemble flames or ornamental curls. Golden yellow and orange swirls fill the background, and green leaf-like forms point toward the top and bottom. The design mirrors itself left to right and top to bottom, like a kaleidoscope or mandala. The colors are saturated and the surface looks smooth and liquid-like.

A collector wants this piece for its bold warm-cool contrast: a glowing cobalt-blue oval held inside crimson scrollwork and set on a golden-yellow field. The design is perfectly mirrored on both axes, so it reads as ornamental and balanced, and the saturated color pulls the eye to the center. Pure visual attraction is reason enough. Few abstracts combine such a strong single focal point with this much surrounding pattern.
